The structure presented below is a theoretical structure that could be created in the laboratory under special conditions. It consists of hexagonal rings of six identical metal atoms, placed in a simple configuration so that each atom of a ring touches one atom of the next ring, but with reverse magnetic polarity These nanotubes could be smaller in diameter and more durable than carbon nanotubes. Also, the ring could consist of 3,4,5,6,7,8 ... metal atoms, thus increasing the diameter of the nanotube. Top view. Top view. Site view.
